Thousands turn out for major Somerset careers fair

A MAJOR careers fair on Wednesday attracted thousands of young people from across the South-West hoping to map out their futures.
The Connect South West event saw school and college students, and young adults turn out to take advantage of more than 80 display stands showcased by employers and education and training providers.
It was the 17th careers fair put on by the firm and was staged at the Junction 24 conference centre near Bridgwater for the second year running.
Organisers hailed the exhibition as one of the most successful yet matching last year's turnout of 4,000.
Rachel Bendell, chief executive of Connect South West, said: “It was a really special occasion and the highlight of the year for us.
“I am really pleased it was another huge success and we are hoping to do it all again next year.”
